Dog Training Information
Do you know your dog needs exercise to really be complete. Without exercise your dog will be lazy, have pent up energy, and not listen as well. You need to make sure you do not just play in your yard with your dog, that is the environment he is always in. He needs to go out in the world and get socialized and get out to run around in a different place and experience different smells and situations. So, I am sure that you arew wondering where you can take your dog to let them play. It really isn’t that hard to think of places to go. You can go to:
- Dog Beaches
- Dog parks
- Open areas such as camping grounds
Be open to new areas and try to make sure you are not near roads if your dog doesn’t listen perfectly while off leash . Getting our dog of leash is good as leashes cause stress to the dog and make it more anxious.

Is your puppy biting you with its sharp teeth and you are not sure what to do to stop it and fix it. Puppy bites are some of the worst bites because their teeth are so small and sharp. It is like needles piercing your skin. So how to do it.
- You are playing with your dog and he/she bites you
- Scream “OUCH”
- Act sad
- Walk away from your dog
- after 5 minutes come back
- play with your dog again
- repeat every time he/she bites you
It seems odd and crazy, but this is what I did with my own dogs and it worked perfectly. It teach them that biting humans is not okay.

Dog Training Information
If your dog is not obedient on the leash you are not alone. Most dogs do not like too be on a leash and listening before they get trained with the leash. Your dog does want to listen but you need to communicate to them what you want. Your dog aims to please its master/alpha dog. Your job is when it doesn’t want to listen a few times to put it back in its place.
Way to help your dog leash walk:
- Have your dog on your side and begin walking
- Keep walking and if your dog is ahead of you at any time tap him/her on the butt with your foot and pull them back to your leg
- if they go to the side of you and not close enough pull slightly to the side so they fall back in line
- To learn heal you want to walk and if your dog goes in front of you you begin walking the opposite direction. This shows the dog you are in charge and he/she goes where you go.
- Walk upright in the command position. Your dog can sense when you are in control so act like it.

Dogs can be a great addition to your family or they can be the worst thing ever. If you do not know how to properly make your dog happy and balanced it can and will drive you crazy. A happy dog is a happy family. When I was a kid I had a dog that my parents never walked, had us play with it for hours and hold it at night time. The dog was honestly, un-tame almost. My parents had tons of work to do and had little time with the dog for training/exercise.
How to make a balanced dog that works for your family.
I know you probably have read other blog posts and realize almost each one talks about exercise and how important it is for your dog. Depending on your dog it might need 30min to 3 hours of walking/running. No, I am not kidding. A well balanced dog has 50% exercise 25% affection and 25% playing. Your dog picks up on energy from you and your family. You can not always be giving it love that means your dog is not getting rid of his energy or shedding excess energy. This is why lots of dogs have problems not listening or staying focused. It is like your child having sugar all day and now protein/fat or carbs. they will be wired.
So Just remember to exercise your dog and then you can play/love on him/her all you want. It will make your family happier and especially your dog happier.

My dog is a Parson Terrier and is literally insane. I thought i knew what a hyper dog was like before I got her, apparently I had no idea. She is a handful. She seems to have endless energy that never ends. I would play with my dog for 2 hours a day or more and she would not tire out. After months of going crazy I finally decided to try using a treadmill to run/walk her for a few hours a day. Seriously, hours! I can’t say she is any less insane than she was but she defiantly is much quieter, happier and less aggressive. She still has her insane side but with less edge.
So how did I get her to like her treadmill and use it… It took about 2 weeks of getting the dog use to the treadmill before she really took to it. Here is how I did it.
- Built the treadmill
- put the dog on the treadmill
- forgot about the treadmill
- put the dog on the treadmill and turn it on for 2 min with the dog on it
- build up time over 2-4 weeks
Honestly, after a few weeks of being ont he treadmill each day for a few hours your dog WILL calm down and be less on edge and listen much better. Your dog will thank you for giving them a chance to work out and burn their excess energy.
